Video Poker is a game that requires skill and it bridges the gap before slot machines and table games. Video Poker Machines first appeared on landbased casino floors in the 1970's and the only game offered was Jacks or Better. There are now over 100 variations of Video Poker available and most of them are played at online casinos.
Video Poker is basically the same as normal draw poker except you are not playing against other players. (NO bluffing required!!)
The machine deals 5 cards. The Player can then draw 5 more cards or alternatively select cards which they choose to "hold" and then deal new cards for the card or cards which they do not wish to hold.
Whether you win or lose is determined by the final outcome after you receive your final draw of cards. How much you win is based on the paytable, type of Video Poker you are playing and how much you bet.
Most Video Poker games used the combinations of hands of a standard 52 card deck. Some, however, like Joker Poker or Deuces Wild have extra Jokers or Deuces so the combinations can vary slightly from game to game.
There are 2,598,960 hands that can be produced with a 52 card deck. The RNG (random number generator) in a video poker machine is set to simulate the probabilities of drawing any one of the combinations of the hands.
Not usually a winning combination except for in Tens or Better, Jacks Or Better, Aces and Faces where a pair Tens or Better OR of Jack or higher OR Kings of higher respectively will find you winnings even money.
All video Pokers except for those usually played with a Joker or Deuce will have a payout of 1:1 or 2: for any 2 pairs.
A 3 of a kind will pay out usually 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 depening on whether Video Poker contains Joker or Wild card
Always a winner at usually 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 depending on whether any wild cards exist in the pack of cards.
Great if you get it on all lines played as this one pays out decently in all variations of Video Poker. Never less than 3:1
Guarenteed a great return on a Straight Flush. Never less than 4:1
Pays out much more in variations not using a wild card. Usually 4:1 +
Only possible in Video Poker variations that make use of a wild card such as a joker or deuce. Usually pays out the same as a 4 of a kind in standard variations of Video Poker not using any wild cards.
As the name suggests its the ever elusive Royal Flush with one card substituted with a joker or deuce. Pays similar to a Straight Flush in a variation of the game that does not make use of wild cards.
Holds special return in Aces and Eights. Sometimes even higher return when coupled with another specified card such as a 2 or Q for example.
Occurs in Deuces Wild and has the about 1000x time return on bet.
The best of the best in most Video Poker Variations.
Usually pays more than the natural royal flush. On a bet of $25 on Deuces and Jokers at a Microgaming Casino - this hand will deliver a massive $50,000!
